Terry M. Kessinger was born September 25, 1948, and grew up in central Illinois. Terry graduated from the University of Tennessee in 1971. After returning from active duty in the United States Navy, he attended Indiana University Law School- Indianapolis graduating in 1976.

Terry is a member of the Hendricks County, Indiana State and American Bar Associations. He is licensed to practice in the State of Indiana and has been admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court.

Terry has practiced in Hendricks County his entire legal career. From 1979 to 1990 he served as the Chief Deputy Prosecutor for Hendricks County. He has been the attorney for the North West Hendricks School Corporation since 1978 and represents the Plainfield Police Commission.

Terry is active in service organizations in the Danville area. He is a member of the Danville Optimist Club and is a past president of the Danville Rotary Club. He also serves on the Board of Directors for Sycamore Services which provides various services for individuals with disabilities in Central and Southern Indiana.

Terry has a general law practice with a main focus on criminal defense work. He also handles probate matters.

Terry has been married to Betty Ann for 38 years. Betty Ann is retired from teaching for the Danville Community School Corporation. They have two daughters, Carrie who is a teacher in the Chicago Public Schools and Kimberly who is an attorney.
